Over the weekend a select few AHS band members went to the Kansas State Concert Band clinic. Seasoned junior trombone Seth Bielefeld explains, “…[on Friday] we audition and they [the judges] place us in a band from seven equal(ly) [skilled] bands and a top band. Then we practice for a while…” they practiced on Friday from 3:00pm to 10:30pm.

He continues, “On Sunday, we rehearse with the group for most of the morning and take a class with the professor of our instrument-then we rehearse some more…”

On Sunday the groups practiced all morning and then had a concert for the public.

Senior trombone Britney Eborsol explained on thing she learned from her Professor, she comments “…A good musician doesn’t make the same mistake twice…”

Freshman trumpet Alyvia Johnson added, “…amazing musicians…play as a band instead of as individuals…”

The AHS participants performed wonderfully and look forward to the bands next performance.
