Abilene High had many things to celebrate at the Academic Achievement night on Tuesday, May 8. From 5 to 7 in the evening, there was an open house; showcasing students’ hard work throughout the school. We saw many projects from the art department, welding, horticulture, and Stick ‘em Up!. Throughout the open house, Mrs. Farr’s culinary class prepared deserts for people to try as students showed off their hard work.

Afterwards, seniors and their parents gathered in the auditorium to be recognized for awards and scholarships they received. The AHS Singers ensemble even performed a few songs to get this ceremony started. Students were then presented with various awards and scholarships they had worked so hard for. Even teachers were given the chance to gift the deserving seniors with the “Outstanding Senior” award. These teachers shared the good memories they had with this senior class and what the student had done to receive the award.

This group of seniors was sure one to remember. Congratulations and good luck, class of 2018!
