CANCELLED: Oh S.N.A.P.! After Prom Party Promises to Be Fun “Axe-perience”

**Story Update, April 8, 2020**  Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 AfterProm event has been cancelled.

If you have been looking forward to Prom, just wait until you hear about S.N.A.P., that’s Safe Night After Prom. After you and your Prom date dominate the dance floor, you guys can rake in prizes and money while playing your favorite games.

Sign up for S.N.A.P. so you and your friends can participate in activities like axe throwing, limbo, bingo, money machines, four square in the air, and much more. After you work up an appetite from all the axe throwing and bingo, you can grab some free food. In the past, pizza, candy, and of course soda have been served to the students who attend.

The money machine has been a crowd favorite at previous after prom events.

Sign-ups are on Canvas only. You can find them on the Senior and Junior class page. This year however, there are no signup sheets in the office. Sign-ups will be open from March 23rd until April 8th.  You must sign up by April 8th to receive any prizes.

Everyone, regardless of age, even those who are 18, must have a parent waiver signed. Make sure you get that signed and turned in before it’s too late.   This link will be emailed to your parent and the parent of your guest, so be sure you provide their correct email when you register.

Doors open at 11:00 p.m. and you must check in by 11:15 or there is no entry. The fun lasts until 3:00 a.m. when, sadly, the after prom ends and everyone must go.

There are tons of rewards to go around! It is rare for someone to leave S.N.A.P. without a single prize. In fact, almost all Seniors and Juniors walk away with multiple. At past S.N.A.P. events, there have been spike ball sets, gift cards, and even a couple of TV’s.

Allison Liby, a junior at AHS, has been to S.N.A.P. before. She had loads of fun and her only regret was not trying the money machine. She played games all night and even won some money. It may be tiring after playing games all night, but there is fun for everyone, even if you’re worn out.

“If you don’t want to be on your feet, they had bingo all night where you could win gift cards for places in Abilene. There is definitely a lot to do,” Liby added.

Plan ahead and make sure you get your sign-ups and parent signature waivers turned in to set yourself up for a great night. You don’t want to miss out on all the fun!
