Lighting began to strike just after kickoff, pushing the Homecoming football game and homecoming queen announcement 90 minutes  and leaving fans buzzing with anticipation. At halftime of the Cowboys-Panthers game, candidate Zoe Cox heard her name over the loud speaker: she had just won homecoming queen for the class of 2025.
