Girls’ Tennis Serves Smoky Valley

The Abilene Cowgirls Tennis team headed to Smoky Valley High on Thursday, September 6th to compete in one of the most competitive tournaments of the season, aside from regionals and state. After about a three hour rain delay, the Cowgirls enjoyed success from #1 doubles team Shiann Olberding and Kylie Coup, who placed 1st. Zoe Cooper, #1 singles, placed 4th and the duo of Brenna Riffel and Maggie Gillespie took 10th. Bella Sims, #2 singles, took 10th as well.

Riffel stated, “We faced a lot of great teams and did a great job competing, especially since we had a long break. I think for the most part, we stayed positive and had a fun time!” The Cowgirls will return to the courts on Saturday, September 15th at Clay Center.
