A night to celebrate success.
As the year winds down, it’s time to celebrate the Achievement Award winners. Their hard work and dedication made a difference throughout the school year and will be recognized.
Every April, AHS hosts Achievement Night to honor students for their accomplishments and commitment. During the event, students receive a variety of awards, and some seniors are also recognized with scholarships they have earned.
“That’s just a night where we recognize a lot of seniors. It’s mostly for the upperclassmen. Juniors will get some academic awards, seniors will be recognized for academic awards, and some scholarships will be given out,” assistant principal Dr. James said.
There are several awards that juniors and seniors can earn, including Athletic Scholar and Honor Roll Scholar honors. Outstanding senior awards are also presented in different departments, such as Journalism and ACT. Throughout the night, students are recognized for the effort and success they have shown during the year.
“Every senior that’s there, we’ll have them go across the stage, and we’ll have a screen that shows you where they’re going to college and what their accomplishments are and how they did throughout the year,” counselor Mrs. Weishaar said.
