There are miniature ducks hiding all around the school, causing students to wonder: Who is this mystery duck dropper? The answer is senior Jacob Wernecke, and he’s already hidden over 200 ducks, with more still to come. 

“I’ve got maybe 40 left, but I will 100% be ordering more,” Jacob Wernecke said. 

100 ducks have been found in the gym alone, and 20 in one class period. Some are hidden in plain sight, like in the hallways, and others are in locations where only few students could see them to avoid as many being stolen. 

“I haven’t seen anyone hide them, but I did find one in the history hallway,” sophomore Sam Holland said. 

Wernecke gained the teacher’s permission before he began this harmless prank. He chose ducks simply because he thought that it would be funny and brighten someone’s day.  

“I kind of want it to be funny; I want someone to smile,” Jacob Wernecke said.
